Miller: Winning is everything

Rangers striker Kenny Miller has demanded a repeat of August's derby victory on Saturday as the Light Blues look to throw the title race wide open.

Walter Smith's team head into the Old Firm match four points behind rivals Celtic in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, but arguably hold a psychological advantage after their 4-2 victory at Parkhead four months ago.

And Miller, who scored twice in that memorable win, said: "This is a game you look forward whether it is at home or away."

He added: "Obviously after the first result, which was massive, we have to make sure we get the same kind of result in front of our home fans.

"We have to win every game, never mind Celtic games. However, there is obviously a great deal of importance attached to this one.

"We are behind in the title race and we are at home so we have to make it count. Everyone is going to be so up for it so we just have to get the right result."

Rangers manager Smith fully expects Celtic to be on a revenge mission when they arrive at Ibrox.

As far as the Rangers boss is concerned, the last four months will have done nothing to soothe Celtic's anger and frustration at coming off second best. But he insists his own players will be ready to face any backlash from their arch rivals.

He said: "Losing two games in a row is never a nice aspect. Celtic have shown in the latter stages of last season the pride they have in terms of being champions. Their desire to retain the championship was evident at the end of last season.

"Of course, they will be hurting a little bit and they will want to make amends for that game. We are aware of that situation."
