Mission accomplished for Morley

Warrington prop Adrian Morley insisted it was mission accomplished after he led a youthful Great Britain to an emphatic 42-14 victory over France in the one-off mid-season Test at Headingley.

With the St Helens quartet of Jon Wilkin, James Roby, James Graham and Ade Gardner all enhancing their reputations and the Leeds duo of Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield also pressing their Test claims, Morley was delighted with a job well done.

"It was a tough game and great preparation for the end of the year," he said. "It was good to get all the boys together mid-season and into a Test match state of mind. With the young guys coming through and the guys who got rested to come in, it's looking good."

He added: "I thought Jon Wilkin had a great game. He's had a great year for Saints and he took that into the international game."

Burrow grabbed a brace of tries and even Morley got in on the scoring spree, registering his first touchdown for his country, almost 11 years since making the first of his 27 appearances.

"I don't score that many tries - actually it was the first one this year," he said.

"It was a nice touch. My form for my club has been pretty scratchy so I hope I can carry on in this vein for Warrington."
