Moores to unveil one-day blueprint

Coach Peter Moores will meet up with England selectors at Worcester aiming to identify the captaincy candidates who can implement his one-day vision.

Moores started his reign with a comprehensive 3-0 Test series triumph over West Indies, but now faces the more problematic part of his new role - succeeding where others have failed before him by finding consistent success for England at one-day level.

"What's really exciting about the one-day game is that we've got scope because we've got some really good players," he said. "They haven't quite yet gelled together or found a formula that brings success and that's one of the challenges I've got, along with the new captain and the team."

Moores accepts that whoever is named one-day skipper will have to work closely with Michael Vaughan as the Test captain if England are to be successful.

"Michael will be very supportive of the new captain," said Moores.

"I think we can make it work, I really do, and I think it's a real positive for both sides.

"We know we've got the challenge of raising the standard of our one-day cricket because we haven't been that good at it over the last few years."
