The Malta striker, nicknamed 'the Mosquito' due to his 5ft 5in frame, opened the scoring and added a late fourth as the Sky Blues destroyed woeful Rovers.
"The goalkeeper was superb, the back four were just amazing, the midfield ran a marathon and us three on top were a threat all the time," he said.
Mifsud also scored twice to give Coventry a 2-0 win at Manchester United in the Carling Cup last September, and now has 15 goals this season.
Iain Dowie's men are 17th place the Coca-Cola Championship but they simply outplayed Rovers and should have scored more.
"Every one of us played with his heart and gave his best to ensure we got the result," said Mifsud.
"Blackburn had their own chances and they were on to us in the second half, but we always threatened on the counter-attack. It's always nice to win when everyone plays so well.
"We knew it wasn't going to be easy because Blackburn are a big side. They had their own chances and they were on to us in the second half, but we always threatened on the counter-attack."
Rovers were booed off at the final whistle. Hughes, who won the FA Cup four times as a player, was missing Roque Santa Cruz and a number of other players to injury.
However, he said: "That's no excuse and we had enough on the pitch to make more of a game of it. Our second-half performance wasn't acceptable."
