Mowbray still concentrating on League

Tony Mowbray insists promotion to the Premier League remains the priority for West Brom despite acknowledging that a favourable draw in the next round could offer the chance to reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

Albion have recently surrendered top spot in the Championship and slipped to fourth place in the table after just one win in their last five league matches, but they eased into the sixth round of the cup with a resounding 5-0 victory over Midlands rivals Coventry at the Ricoh Arena.

"The League is the priority still because we can't let the possibility of getting to the semi-final of the FA Cup ruin our chances of promotion," said Mowbray.

Barnsley's shock victory at Anfield and Bristol Rovers' less surprising home win over Southampton has blown the competition wide open and presented a great opportunity for a team from outside the Premier League to reach the latter stages.

But Mowbray would favour a return to the top flight over a Wembley appearance come May.

"There is the real potential for someone to find themselves in the semi-final," he said.

"With respect to some of the teams, there are Championship teams and a League One side still left.

"I have no preference who we get because what we do now is concentrate on the next game - which is Hull in the league."

Coventry caretaker manager Frankie Bunn said: "What could go wrong has gone wrong but we must overcome it because bigger names and better managers than me have lost more than five and come back from it, and that is what we will do.

"We will be right on Tuesday at Sheffield Wednesday because it is vital and we need to start pushing our way up the league table."
