Moyes backs Yakubu to rediscover touch

After scoring three times in Everton's first four matches this season the goals from the Nigeria international have dried up.
But he will return to the Everton line-up for Sunday's match with Middlesbrough and Moyes said: "Centre forwards will always tell you that they go through periods without scoring and they lose a bit of confidence when they are not scoring. Once we get Yak scoring again though I think everybody knows what he is capable of."
Everton have managed to win their last three matches thanks to late strikes in games that Moyes admits have not been pleasant on the eye.
The Scot says although he will happily take victories in any form, he would prefer his Everton team to be playing attractive and entertaining football at the same time.
And he is looking to last season's fifth-place Premier League finish as the inspiration for an improvement in Everton's play.
He added: "People always tell you that if you are not playing well but win then that is a great sign so I have to take that as a positive.
"I will always take winning, it is the game and the business we are in but I want a bit of pride in the way we perform as well.
"After last year with the standards we set I am very keen to get back to those standards as quickly as we can."
