Mujati set for Saints move - agent

Stormers prop Brian Mujati is on his way to Northampton, according to his agent Jason Smith.

The 24-year-old, who has been capped 12 times by South Africa, will link up with the Guinness Premiership club after the conclusion of the current domestic season and is set to sign a two-year deal at Franklin's Gardens.

"Brian has agreed terms with Northampton," Smith told the Cape Times. "He will probably only join them in November as he is still under contract to Western Province."

Smith added: "They may let him go early but they are keen to keep him for the Currie Cup.

"He will be at Northampton for two years. It is a good opportunity for him."

Smith added that his current employers do have the chance to keep him on with a better financial offer, but it was unlikely that he would stay.

He added: "Western Province have the opportunity to match the terms, but it is probably unfair to the rest of the players if you take the exchange rate into consideration.

"Brian has no problems with WP at all. He enjoys Cape Town and is highly rated by Rassie Erasmus (coach). But it is a good opportunity for him and he can develop his game even further there."

The Zimbabwe-born Mujati has endured a tough season in 2009 with injuries severely contributing to his downward turn in form. He struggled with shoulder problems and more recently concussion, which kept him out of action for the past month.

It was a dramatic turnaround for the tight-head after his Test debut for the Springboks in 2008 was followed by all 12 of his national appearances.
