Murray: Britain will start favourites

Andy Murray insists Great Britain will begin this weekend's Davis Cup tie with Croatia as favourites despite being ranked 23 places below their opponents.

British number one Murray is confident he, brother Jamie, Tim Henman and Jamie Baker will be able to cope with the visiting quartet of Ivan Ljubicic, Marin Cilic, Roko Karanusic and Lovro Zovko at Wimbledon.

He said: "They are a good team but we have a strong team as well with Tim playing and my brother in the doubles. It's going to be a great match and I think we are the favourites for it. I am looking forward to it, everyone on the team is."

Any Davis Cup tie played at Wimbledon would be expected to create a highly-charged atmosphere but the Scot, currently ranked 21st in the world, admits the fact it will bring the curtain down on Henman's career adds extra pressure to give the 33-year-old a fitting send off.

Murray said: "I will just have to try and take the emotion and occasion out of the match and focus on playing my best tennis because it has been a long time since I have and there is going to be a lot of pressure on everyone there to perform.

"We are going to get great support there so hopefully we can get the win. We decided to play on grass which I think is a good decision.

"Now that it's Tim's last time and being played at Wimbledon in front of a crowd of 14,000, it's going to be awesome."
