Murray brothers crash out

Andy and Jamie Murray crashed out of the Paris Masters doubles in the first round with a 6-1 2-6 11-9 defeat to Jordon Kerr and Andre Sa.

The Scottish pair were well off the pace from the outset, with a woeful first-serve success rate of just 40 per cent contributing to their problems.

However, they improved that aspect of their game in the second set and battled back to level things up before losing the champions tie-break.

It was revealed afterwards that Andy was involved in a car accident on Monday as he travelled from the airport to his hotel but escaped with nothing more than a stiff back and the 20-year-old dismissed the incident as "nothing serious".

Murray said: "I'd never been in a car crash before. There was the driver, me and (coach) Brad Gilbert.

"There was a lot of traffic. The driver did nothing wrong. He just broke and somebody, driving at around 20km/h, bumped into the back of the car.

"There was a pretty loud bang."
