That is why the world number three is looking forward to picking up the baton again when Great Britain face Poland in a relegation play-off.
"It is a chance to play for your country. This is the one time you get to play as a team," he said. "The atmosphere is different to anything on the tour. Wimbledon is a little bit similar to a Davis Cup match. Some of the best atmospheres I have played in have been in Davis Cup."
He added: "The only singles match I lost was against Switzerland, so I want to try and keep my unbeaten run going."
Despite problems with his wrist Murray insists he can play all three days if necessary at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
He said: "I've had six days off and will take a little bit more time after the Cup ties.
"We are capable of winning the match without me playing all three days. But If I need to play three matches I will play three.
"The wrist is just sore - I've had it for a few weeks. I don't think it is anything major that will require surgery."
