Murray hoping for Wimbledon green light

Andy Murray is confident he will be able to compete at Wimbledon and will make a final decision on his participation after practice on Monday.

Murray injured tendons in his right wrist in Hamburg last month, forcing him to miss the French Open and Artois Championships and leaving him with a race against time to be fit for the All England Club. But his rehabilitation has proved encouraging and he hopes he will be given the all clear to face Nicolas Lapentti in his first round.

He said: "I hope I'll be competing. I've been playing some sets over the last few days and had no bad reaction on my wrist. Every day it gets better and if I have no bad reaction on Sunday or Monday after practice then I hope to play."
