Murray ready for Henman critique

Andy Murray insists he will take any criticism levelled by former Davis Cup team-mate Tim Henman on the chin.

Henman has been signed up as a commentator for Wimbledon and Murray accepts his performances will be carefully analysed by his predecessor as British number one.

"Everyone is entitled to their opinion, as long as it's not personal and isn't an attack on you," said Murray.

He added: "Everyone has an opinion on how certain players should play and people will have opinions on how I should I play.

"But you shouldn't really care what anyone else thinks. As long as the people around me think I'm doing the right thing and there's a W by my name, then nothing else matters.

"So I won't be listening too much to what Tim has to say."

Murray faces wildcard Jonathan Eysseric in the first round of the French Open, which starts on Sunday.

The Scotsman's only previous appearance at Roland Garros ended abruptly with a first-round defeat by Gael Monfils in 2006, and he starts against another French teenager this year.

Last year he was forced to sit out the French Open with the wrist injury that also ended his hopes of playing at Wimbledon.

Murray added: "Missing the Grand Slams is what really hurts. Wimbledon before wasn't my favourite tournament, the US Open was, But when I ended up missing Wimbledon last year I realised how much I wanted to play in it."
