Murray sets sights on Wimbledon win

Andy Murray cannot wait to get playing on grass again after his third-round exit at the French Open and believes the last two months have improved his chances of becoming Wimbledon champion.

Murray begins his preparation immediately for the Queens Club tournament which begins a week on Monday after going out 6-3 6-7 6-3 7-5 against top clay-courter Nicolas Almagro of Spain.

He said: "I'd love to win Wimbledon. I'm not saying it's going to happen. But I believe that if I play my best tennis I can win. I've won against a lot of the top players. Not as many guys play so well on grass."

He added: "(Roger) Federer is for sure still the favourite to win but that's my goal."

On clay Murray also had a warning for three-times French Open champion Rafael Nadal and the multitude of top class clay players.

He said: "I play well on clay. To win against me on clay is a very good result. I'm not someone who's going to be taken lightly on this surface in the future.

"I'm going to be one of the top players on clay in a couple of years.

"I just need a bit more experience, a bit more strength and a bit more understanding of how to play and I'll be up there with the best players."
