The British number one progressed into the fourth round on Friday after opponent Janko Tipsarevic retired injured midway through their match on Suzanne Lenglen court with a sore right hamstring.

"It's been a good start, this first week," said the world number three, who could play top seed and reigning four-time champion Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals.

Murray has never been this far at Roland Garros and has had quite a comfortable ride to date, losing just one set en route to a last-16 clash with 13th seed Marin Cilic, which should be played on Sunday.

And Murray still feels fresh and ready for the tougher challenges that lie ahead.

"It hasn't been too demanding physically and now I feel good going into next week," he said.

"I'll obviously try to do better now. I'd love to go further and go very deep into the tournament."

Nadal looked close to his best in his three-set demolition of Lleyton Hewitt on Friday. The Spaniard did not rip up any trees in his opening two matches but went up a gear against Hewitt, a former world number one.

Nadal remains unbeaten in four-and-a-half tournaments at Roland Garros and Australia's Hewitt fears he will not be stopped this year either.

"He's as good as he's ever been right now," he said. "He's number one in the world, he's holding three of the four grand slams. He was hitting his spots against me and mixing it up extremely well. It's tough against him."
