Murray washed out

Andy Murray will have to wait until Wednesday to launch his title bid at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia after rain wreaked havoc on the second day in Rome.

The world number four received a bye into the second round and was supposed to face Juan Monaco of Argentina but inclement weather did not allow for any play until late in the afternoon and organisers announced the clash would not be on, on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old Murray is seeded fourth at the event and that allowed him to receive the first-round bye.
