Murray: We played very well

Scotland's Jamie Murray admitted his passage into the semi-finals of the mixed doubles at the US Open could not have been smoother.

Murray and world doubles number one Liezel Huber secured a 6-1 6-2 win over Poland's Agnieska Radwanska and Mariusz Fyrstenberg, and will next face American Meghann Shaughnessy and Leander Paes of India.

Murray told BBC Radio Five Live: "It couldn't have gone any better. We played very well and dominated from start to finish."

Looking ahead to the semi-finals, Murray added: "I'm pretty excited. They might put us out on Arthur Ashe court which would be pretty special. It will be a good chance to see what Leander can do."

Huber paid tribute to Murray following the win, saying: "He's great - I wouldn't say it if I didn't think so. He deserves all the success he has achieved so far and will achieve.

"I'm not trying to think about it (our partnership) too much. We just kind of play our game and go about our ways and I listen to Jamie although he is younger.

"Normally I take the lead out there but he takes the lead and makes me comfortable and confident. We have fun out there also."
