Neville suffers injury setback

Manchester United's Gary Neville has suffered a setback in his long road back from injury after he sustained yet another calf injury.

The 32-year-old defender has not figured on first-team duty since he broke an ankle against Bolton in March, but he did manage an outing for United's second string at Stockport last Thursday.

However, he is set to be sidelined until at least the end of the month, after manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed: "Unfortunately, Gary has a calf strain again which is a real dampener for the boy and for us. He is not back to square one but it is certainly something we could have done without."

He added: "I don't think it is a long one but it is disturbing in the fact he really needs to get his season on the road and this is a setback."

It was expected Neville would be involved in some capacity in Wednesday's Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev, but now it appears unlikely he will be available until the end of the month at the earliest, ruling him out of England's forthcoming clashes with Austria and Croatia.
