New contract for Rhinos star
22 January 2008
Jones-Buchanan, 26, who made his Great Britain debut in the third Test against New Zealand in November, pledged his future to the club at their training camp in Jacksonville, Florida, where the Rhinos are preparing for Saturday's clash with South Sydney.
"I am really pleased for Jamie and the club that he has agreed a new contract," coach Brian McClennan said. "He is a great part of our squad, both on and off the field, and a true professional."
He added: "He has represented his country and won two Grand Finals but there are hopefully even better times to come for him during his career."
Jones-Buchanan, who signed for Leeds nine years ago, came through the junior system at Headingley and is cutting his coaching teeth with the Rhinos' Under-16 team.
He said: "I am delighted to have agreed the new deal but there was no other club I want to play for.
"I have been here since I was 13, I am a Leeds lad and nothing gives me more pride than pulling on the Leeds shirt and playing at Headingley Carnegie.
"We have got a great squad here at Leeds and we want to build on the success of last year. The squad want to stay together and fulfil their potential and that is very exciting as a player."
