Chief executive David Gill told Ferguson the good news in an early morning meeting on Friday without outlining precisely how long the three players will remain at Old Trafford.
However, it is expected that all three have signed long-term deals, with Brown putting an end to intense speculation over his future after extending a contract that was due to run out at the end of the season.
"They have agreed new deals," said Ferguson.
"It continues our policy of lengthening contracts at the right time and keeps the continuity of the first-team squad going, which we try to do."
Ferdinand later revealed that he hopes his impending deal will not be his last as he plans to finish his career at Old Trafford.
It is rumoured the 29-year-old is set to sign a five-year contract which would take his time at the club to 11 years, and he hopes to stay beyond that.
"I get chills and tingles down my spine just thinking about being at United for 11 years," the defender told the Manchester Evening News.
"If you'd said at the start of my career that I could one day be a United player for 11 years I would have bitten your hand off. The thought of that is great.
"I hope this new one is not my last contract. I would like to sign more because that would mean more years here and more time at the club I love and enjoy playing for."
