New Notts deal for Wagh

Nottinghamshire batsman Mark Wagh has signed a three-year contract extension to keep him at Trent Bridge until the end of the 2012 season.

The 32-year-old former Warwickshire player joined Nottinghamshire in late 2006 and scored 1,033 runs in last season's LV County Championship Division One campaign.

Director of cricket Mick Newell said: "Mark made a significant contribution last season and we'll be looking for more of the same in 2009."

He added: "As a consistent, English-qualified batsmen, he is a player who would be in high demand and both parties were keen on the extension."
