New Zealand move ahead

13 January 2008
Having resumed on 134 for three, New Zealand were chasing Bangladesh's disappointing first innings of 143 and they comfortably moved beyond that figure despite losing the wickets of Matthew Sinclair (47) and Jacob Oram (1).
Stephen Fleming was steadily working his way towards an elusive maiden century and was 86 not out at the break alongside Brendon McCullum (2).
Sinclair and Fleming had combined to add 80 runs to their overnight total before the former was dismissed when he got a thick outside edge from a Shahadat Hossain delivery and Mushfiqur Rahim made the catch.
Rahim then ensured Oram had just a short stay in the middle when he made the catch to dismiss the 29-year-old for just one run.
