Newton facing cheekbone surgery

Terry Newton looks to have played his last game for Bradford after being told he needs surgery to repair a fractured cheekbone.

The former Great Britain hooker will undergo surgery on Thursday which could rule him out for up to six weeks.

With the 30-year-old having signed for Wakefield for next season and Bradford struggling to make this year's engage Super League play-offs, his Bulls career could be over.

Bradford are five points outside the play-off zone with just four regular season games remaining.

Coach Steve McNamara said: "If he has played his last game for us it would be unfortunate for Terry and a shame for us."
