No replay of New Road clash

27 January 2007
The game was called off without a ball being bowled at New Road three weeks ago after the Pears had taken the decision to stage the game at their headquarters even though the ground had been flooded the previous week.
Kent were upset the game had not been moved to nearby Kidderminster and the four-day fixture was called off before the start of play on the third morning.
The ECB decided to allow the game to go ahead from next Monday.
This provoked anger from several other Division One sides also affected by the weather and now the game's governing body have decided there can be no attempt to play the relegation clash.
The ECB were looking to compensate Kent and explored the possibility of them receiving nine points - their average tally in away games this season.
But it needed unanimous backing from the remaining Division One clubs for this proposition to be ratified and Durham, Yorkshire, Lancashire and Warwickshire indicated they would not support this move.
As a result Kent and Worcestershire will only receive four points apiece.
