No Swede dreams for Hodgson
17 January 2009
The 62 year old's contract is up for renewal at the end of the season and he admits he has held no formal discussions with the club's hierarchy about renewing his deal.
"I would like to think the job that I have done here, and am doing here, is a good one," Hodgson said.
"If a new contract offer comes up then I'll consider it.
"We are all working hard and getting the best out of the players and doing the best job we can so long may that continue."
Hodgson has been linked with the vacant job of Sweden head coach after Lars Lagerback's nine-year reign ended on Wednesday.
His experience of international management with Switzerland, Finland and the United Arab Emirates, along with his time spent as a club manager in Sweden, make him a prime candidate for the job.
He denies any contact has been made by the Swedish Football Association, however, and insists he is fully committed to helping Fulham out of their current troubles.
"I haven't been contacted about the Sweden job," Hodgson, who managed Halmstads, Malmo and Orebro, added.
"I have a contract until the end of the year here so I'm not free to take a job until June or July. Firstly, as far as I know Sweden have always gone for Swedish coaches and I would be very surprised if they don't go for another Swedish coach. And secondly I'm quite happy here so hopefully my time here will continue a bit longer."
