Noble summons all the King's men

Wigan coach Brian Noble admits he has a huge job on his hands to "rebuild Humpty Dumpty" in time for Friday's engage Super League clash against former club Bradford.

Noble questioned the attitude of some of his players after Sunday's 32-6 defeat at Wakefield, and has promised to "find out the ones that want to be here".

He said: "It's important we don't throw the baby out with the bath water - we have to rebuild Humpty Dumpty for Friday. We've fallen off the wall, and it's been very disappointing, but we'll take whatever crumbs of positivity we can and get ready for what is a huge game for us."

After going ahead through Trent Barrett's early score, the Warriors fell apart as tries from Jason Demetriou, Ben Jeffries, Matt Blaymire, and Peter Fox gave the home side a commanding 22-6 interval lead.

Despite plenty of ball, the Warriors never looked liked scoring after the break and, after Barrett was sin-binned for a high tackle on the impressive Adam Watene, further tries from Jeffries and Richard Moore piled on the misery for Wigan.

Noble added: "We're disappointed with ourselves. I thought we were out-enthused. They did the little stuff a whole lot better than we did, and were far more enthusiastic. We need a check-up in relation to our attitude and we didn't control the ball very well.

"There was a little bit of endeavour from some and less than a little bit of endeavour from some - and we need to find out the ones that want to be here.

"When they see the pictures, they're not going to be wholly impressed with themselves. There were a few people out there taking shortcuts.

"Rugby league is a very brutal game. If you take shortcuts at any level at any time, you'll get found out. We got found out."
