Novo makes goals vow

Novo, who grabbed an early double to set the Light Blues on their way to the March 15 final against the winners of Wednesday's Celtic versus Dundee United tie, is hoping his brace has persuaded Smith to give him a chance to forge a lasting partnership with Kris Boyd - who also scored late in the game.
"In my last long run in the team as a striker (2004/05), I scored 25 goals," Novo said. "That is my real position but I will play in goals if needed - I just want to play football."
He added: "Boyd and I haven't been played together much but obviously I have a good understanding with him, we have been here a few seasons together.
"He's a top goal scorer and we showed that we will fight for each other as well.
"Every game is different and we will see what the gaffer thinks for the United game but I'm 110% behind him."
Falkirk defender Steven Pressley, who slammed the state of the Hampden pitch, calling it "appalling", is confident the defeat will have no impact on the Bairns' fight to stay in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
"It will have no bearing on that," he said. "There is a real spirit in the camp and it's down to the manager. He's a terrific man and provides a great environment for the players."
