Nugent in transfer talks

Newly-promoted Sunderland are believed to be ready to open talks with the 22-year-old on Friday as the race for his signature hots up.
North End chairman Derek Shaw said: "Two clubs have been given permission to speak to David Nugent. It is now down to David Nugent to speak to them both. We respect the clubs' request not to state who they are. At this moment in time, we will not be saying anymore."
West Ham have also been heavily linked with Liverpool-born Nugent, who scored 17 goals for his club last season, while Everton, the club he supported as a boy, has long been touted as a possible destination.
But it appears the Black Cats have wasted little time in attempting to persuade Nugent his future lies in the north east, with friends suggesting he has already made up his mind to head for the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn revealed last week the club had approached North End about the player and had been told he would be making no decision until after his return from the international tournament in Holland.
Nugent, who was signed from Bury in January 2005, was left with a big decision after Preston missed out on the Coca-Cola Championship play-offs when they finished seventh.
His departure from Deepdale has become almost inevitable, although he will not come cheap after blossoming into a genuine Barclays Premier League prospect.
