O'Donovan set to follow Gordon

Gordon finally sealed a move to the Stadium of Light on Wednesday evening in a deal which could be worth £9million to former club Hearts and he looks set to be joined by O'Donovan, who was undergoing a medical at the club on Thursday morning.
Keane said: "Roy is having a medical this morning after we reached an agreement with Cork City. He's done very well in the League of Ireland but is ready for a new challenge. He knows where the back on the net is, he's aggressive and could do very well for us."
Gordon revealed former Manchester United legend Keane was instrumental in persuading him to swap his home-town club for Sunderland.
"It was great to finally be allowed to speak to Sunderland and come down and meet the manager and see the facilities we have here," Gordon told Sky Sports News.
"I'm delighted to have finally signed. It's really geared up to being a massive club and once I spoke to the manager my mind was made up. We sat down with a cup of tea and he was very clear on his visions and what he expects from his players."
Gordon expects to shake off a minor shoulder injury in time to face Tottenham in the season opener on Saturday.
Keane is also hoping to hear in the next 24 hours whether his bid for Tottenham's Egyptian striker Mido has been successful.
"One or two other clubs have shown a bit of interest but we expect an answer in the next 24 hours," Keane added.
"We are hopeful but until a player signs on the dotted line you can never be sure."
