Olympics will rebound from crisis: Rogge

Rogge was speaking after more confusion and demonstrations on the Olympic torch relay to Beijing, this time in San Francisco. Organisers switched the torch's route through the city at the last minute in an attempt to head off more of the anti-China protests which overshadowed the London and Paris legs earlier in the week.
Rogge said: "Tell them that whatever they have seen and heard, the Games will be very well-organised. Tell them that we will rebound from this current crisis."
Rogge, speaking at a meeting of the Association of National Olympic Committees and the IOC executive board in the Chinese capital, was keen to reassure athletes of a successful Games.
"Tell them not to lose faith," he added. "Tell them that they are going to set an example and that the world will be watching them (in Beijing).
"We have 120 days to achieve that and I am sure it is going to be successful."
The San Francisco event passed off with relatively few problems following the late change of plan, although two torch-bearers did unfurl Tibetan flags.
