The 34-year-old joined Rovers from PSV in 2006, but is now planning to end his career back at his former club.

"We will make it definitive in May," he told PSV TV. "I have had three nice years abroad, but I will be happy to return to Holland."

Ooijer, who is on international duty at present, made almost 200 appearances for PSV from 1997 to 2006.

While confirming that he will return, Ooijer said he does not want to spend too much time thinking about next season with Blackburn still facing a battle against relegation.

"We have agreed to concentrate on the present," he said. "I am fully focused on Oranje and Blackburn, and PSV can focus on their own competition."
