Owls and Wolves left frustrated

19 January 2008
The Owls had been using undersoil heating since Sunday but persistent severe frost and freezing fog has left the surface unplayable.
Local referee, Craig Porter, inspected the pitch at 12.15pm and immediately decided to postpone the Championship match.
Meanwhile, a pitch inspection at Wolves this evening deemed the surface unplayable despite two generators and six industrial heater fans being employed in an attempt to thaw out the affected areas of the pitch after the undersoil heating had earlier malfunctioned.
No new date has been set for the re-arranged fixture.
Carlisle's League One tie with Nottingham Forest has also been called off due to a frozen pitch.
Elsewhere, Notts County's fixture against Rochdale, Chester's clash with Darlington, Stockport's game against Mansfield, Hereford's match against Wrexham and Grimsby's trip to Morecambe have also fallen foul to the recent cold snap.
