Panesar claims two early wickets

England spinner Monty Panesar struck two early blows to West Indies' pursuit of history in the third Test at Old Trafford.

Panesar accounted for Denesh Ramdin in the third over of the morning when a delivery of extra bounce flew off the shoulder of the bat to Paul Collingwood at slip.

A stunning return catch by Panesar then saw all-rounder Darren Sammy perish just under an hour later as West Indies, who resumed on 301 for five needing a further 154 runs to set a new record chase in Test cricket, progressed to 348 for seven.
