Parker's World Cup future was in doubt when he was carried off during the first half of Wales' 32-20 defeat to Australia on Saturday, but team physio Mark Davies is confident Parker will be available to play against Fiji in Nantes on September 29.

He said: "Sonny has sustained a grade one tear to a hip flexor muscle in the left side of his groin. Any greater damage would have ruled him out of the rest of the tournament but this is good news for Sonny and we anticipate he will return in two weeks from the time of injury."

He added: "He will be spending a fair amount of time in the treatment room in the next week but this is the best possible scenario we could've expected for him."
