Peace won't sell stars on the cheap

The likes of Diomansy Kamara, Jason Koumas and skipper Curtis Davies are all set to move from the Baggies after missing out on promotion back to the Barclays Premier League. But Peace indicated no-one would be allowed to leave on the cheap when rejecting a £5million bid from Birmingham for Koumas and Kamara and a £4million offer for Koumas only from Wigan.
He said: "There will be a lot of money sloshing around in the Premier League next season and, let's face it, most of it will go into players' pockets. And there is a danger if we don't let people go, they will be disillusioned. But they will only go on our terms."
He added: "We want head-turning money for them. We don't want our best players being cherry-picked."
Koumas is taking a short break before deciding upon his future while Kamara has already stated his desire to play top-flight football next season.
Davies falls into the same category and has already been linked with Tottenham and Aston Villa.
Albion manager Tony Mowbray has already indicated he only wants players fully committed to a second bid to climb out of the Coca-Cola Championship after losing the play-off final to Derby.
Birmingham are understood to be considering offering striker Rowan Vine as a bargaining tool in their bid to land Koumas.
He managed only one goal after his January move from Luton.
