Doubts over English participation have surfaced after the International Cricket Council confirmed Pakistan would host this September's Champions Trophy and the ECB are to hold a board meeting on August 4 to make a decision on how to proceed on the matter, after voting against the September tournament taking place as planned in the Asian country.
"I have reservations about going; everybody has reservations about Pakistan," said Pietersen. "I have spoken to a players from South Africa and West Indies and we all feel the same way."
Pietersen added: "The ECB have taken it out of our hands.
"I will be waiting until then, looking at everything, and I will make a decision after that if the ECB haven't already made one.
"I don't think pressure should be put on any individual, especially when you realise your life could be at risk.
"It's only a game, it's sport, it's my job and I am not going to risk my life for the job that I do."
