Pizarro eyes Blues trophy haul

Chelsea new boy Claudio Pizarro is confident Jose Mourinho's side can reclaim the Barclays Premiership title next season as well as finally conquer Europe.

The 28-year-old Peru international, who won the Germany Bundesliga crown with Bayern Munich in 2006, completed a summer move to Stamford Bridge after ending a six year spell at the Allianz Arena.

"It was the right time to leave Munich, but I am still sad for having said goodbye to them," Pizarro told Libero newspaper. "My goal is to win the Premier League title and all the other cups we'll play in."

He added: "A new opportunity appeared, I have a new challenge to face and I'm delighted with it.

"Now, I have the opportunity to win the Champions League with a great team and a great coach."

Pizarro will captain Peru at the upcoming Copa America, which takes place in Venezuela from June 26 to July 15, but insists he has set his sights on guiding the white and red to a first World Cup finals appearance since 1982.

"I'd love to play the World Cup," he added. "The Copa America is important and I'd like to win it, but the World Cup is different and I think we have the team to get there."
