Pollitt agrees new deal

Veteran Wigan goalkeeper Mike Pollitt has agreed terms on a new 12-month contract at the JJB Stadium.

Pollitt, 37, is keen to prolong his career even though he has been on the fringes of the first team.

"I've agreed a contract, now it's just a case of getting it signed. I'm hoping it can all be done before I go away on holiday," he told the Evening Post.

"It wasn't a difficult decision to make, it probably took all of 30 seconds. Of course I would have liked to have played a few more games but it's still good to be involved in the squad."
