Pompey still hopeful over Pennant

The two clubs have agreed a fee for the 26-year-old, who has only started two Barclays Premier League games this season and has not featured for Liverpool since October 28. Pennant said on Friday his preference would be to stay at Anfield and compete for his place in the team.
But Pompey executive chairman Peter Storrie said: "We spoke at length with his agent (on Thursday) and hopefully some time over the weekend we can move things forward."
The transfer window has been a frustrating time for Pompey boss Tony Adams, who is desperate to bolster his squad for the battle against relegation that lies ahead.
Although Portsmouth earned around £35million from the sales of Lassana Diarra to Real Madrid and Jermain Defoe to Tottenham, the finances at Fratton Park dictate Adams does not have it all to spend on reinforcements.
Pompey have failed in their efforts to sign Edu from Valencia and bring Gary O'Neil back to the club from Middlesbrough.
But Storrie confirmed that striker Argentinian striker Javier Saviola remains a target.
"We're trying to bring four players in but the window is what it is and can be frustrating at times," he said.
"We were hoping to bring Gary O'Neil back to club but Middlesbrough have put a full stop on that one. We were very hopeful of bringing Edu in from Valencia - but they decided not to sell at this stage.
"I have had quite a lot of discussions with Real (about Saviola). I'm sure there's a deal to be done but it will be down to Tony to decide if he wants to take that forward."
