Pressure mounts on Fulham after loss

Chris Coleman's Fulham were jeered by the crowd as they crashed to a 3-1 defeat after goals by Joey Barton, DaMarcus Beasley and Darius Vassell which virtually ensured Manchester City's top-flight survival with a third successive away win.

Fulham, 2-0 down at the interval, gifted City a third with Liam Rosenior's slip letting in Vassell.

Although Carlos Bocanegra was on the scoresheet again 11 minutes from time with a header from a corner, it was a cruise home for City chief Stuart Pearce, but for the west Londoners the threat of relegation remains very real.
