Prost: Hamilton can be number one

Four-time world champion Alain Prost has tipped Lewis Hamilton to go one better this season and claim the Formula One drivers' title.

McLaren star Hamilton lost the title to Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen by one point last season, but Prost believes the 23-year-old can follow his own example and come back stronger.

Prost told BBC One's Inside Sport programme: "I think Lewis will be the top guy. If he has a good car, I don't think it should be a problem. He has more experience now."

He added: "I lost the championship in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984 by a few points, and at one time I said to myself it must be that I cannot win the championship - and then I won it four times.

"If you have everything together, you have plenty of time."
