Quinlan to appeal against ban

Quinlan is set to miss the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa after being found guilty of making contact with the eye area of Leinster skipper Leo Cullen during a Heineken Cup semi-final earlier this month.
Ireland international Quinlan is currently suspended until early September, and did not assemble with the Lions in Surrey on Monday.
The Lions say they will not stand in the way of Quinlan's appeal, although head coach Ian McGeechan has already identified a potential replacement - believed to be Leicester and England flanker Tom Croft.
An independent disciplinary committee decided last week that Quinlan's offence was at the "low-range" in terms of its seriousness level.
European Rugby Cup announced that Quinlan's appeal hearing will take place in Glasgow on Wednesday.
The appeal commitee will be chaired by Professor Lorne Crerar (Scotland), and also comprise Rod McKenzie (Scotland) and His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett (England).
The Lions squad leave for Johannesburg next Sunday. Their opening game is against a Royal XV in Rustenburg on May 30.
