Ramos turns attention to Wigan

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos admits his focus turned to this weekend's game with Wigan, after two goals in the first half put his team in command of their UEFA Cup clash against Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Ramos has two wins in his first three games since arriving at Spurs - but both were in cup ties, and addressing Premier League form is the priority.

"I was impressed with the performance, although we did not play at our best," he said. "I was also thinking about the Wigan match; I saw the team grow in confidence and I am confident about Sunday's match."

When Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov scored within 31 minutes in Tel Aviv, the Spaniard starting plotting the downfall of managerless Wigan at White Hart Lane as Spurs look for their second league win of the season.

Berbatov insisted he was happy at Spurs earlier on Thursday, after reports he was unsettled. But his moody manner did nothing to help his image - as he barely smiled when he scored.

He did, however, show that he cared by reacting angrily with Keane when a move broke down.

"It's positive from the point of view that the players want to take advantage of all the opportunities," Ramos added.

"There were occasions when we should have done better to try to get another goal; that is possibly the reason why there were some differences between the players. But that ambition to do things well is positive."
