The England striker came off the bench on Monday night to grab the 88th-minute equaliser which saw the Reds escape a chastening Barclays Premier League home defeat to Aston Villa - but he has struggled to establish himself in Rafael Benitez's first XI all season.
Redknapp, who worked with Crouch in his first stint at Fratton Park and then at Southampton, told the Daily Star: "I like 'Crouchie' and I would take him any day of the week."
He added: "But I just don't know whether Liverpool would be willing to sell him.
"He did a great job for me when he was at Portsmouth before and he is also a very nice lad."
