Redknapp refutes reports

O'Neil has been talked of as the makeweight in a supposed Pompey bid to re-sign Middlesbrough striker Ayegbeni Yakubu, and Taylor has been reported to be on the brink of a £5million switch to Tottenham.
Redknapp, however, said: "I saw something in the paper which said I'd offered money and Gary for Yakubu, about £10million-plus, but I don't know where that came from. I've never offered Gary O'Neil to anybody. It's nonsense. Nor Matty Taylor. They are two lads who are here. I want to keep two of my best players."
With just over a week to go to August transfer deadline, Redknapp still has his eye on an extra striker or wide man even though it is his defence and midfield which have been taken apart by injuries.
Ghana's Sulley Muntari, the club record signing at £7.2million from Udinese, will return at Chelsea on Saturday after serving a one-match ban for his dismissal in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
But skipper Sol Campbell has been withdrawn from the England squad against Germany on Wednesday after missing the last two games with a groin injury and Pedro Mendes is under treatment for a similar problem.
Noe Pamarot missed the Bolton match with a pulled hamstring as did Lauren with an ankle injury, and Nico Kranjcar is still recovering from a stress fracture in a foot having been initially ruled out for "about two weeks" at the start of the season.
Owner Alexandre Gaydamak's purse may be temporarily closed after a £23million squad refit by Redknapp but the manager still has funds after the sale of forward Lomana LuaLua to Olympiakos for £3million and defender Andy O'Brien for £1.2million to Bolton.
