Redknapp shuns Gomes offer

Gomes, who arrived from PSV Eindhoven in the summer for around £7million, was guilty of a series of blunders but has not put a foot wrong for almost two months following the arrival of coach Tony Parks.
"I know a club from abroad that want to give us our money back for him," Redknapp said. "That's genuine."
He added: "I've been looking round maybe for a little bit of goalkeeping cover if I can find one but this boy's shown unbelievable character.
"He's played every game, he hasn't hidden and that was with a few injuries which he could have not played with - a hand injury which the physios were saying to me they're not sure whether he can play with it."
After fighting off Manchester City for Jermain Defoe's signature, Redknapp wants a left-sided midfielder and Stewart Downing demanded to leave Middlesbrough - but the club are refusing to sell.
"We don't want to cause any problems for Middlesbrough, if he stays there then great," Redknapp said. "I thought he'd give us a good balance on the left, but Jamie O'Hara has come in and done great."
David Bentley has been deployed on the left but has struggled after moving over from the right. It has led to suggestions his place could be under threat.
"David's future is the same as everybody's - if you're playing well you play, if you're not you don't," Redknapp said. "It's been difficult for him and I've played him on the wrong side, on the left, and it's not easy."
