Reds accept Pompey bid for Pennant

Portsmouth have had an undisclosed bid accepted for Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant.

The former Arsenal and Birmingham man has been consistently linked with a move away from Anfield since falling out of favour with Reds boss Rafael Benitez this season.

Pompey appear to have stolen a march on their rivals for Pennant's signature - with reports suggesting European powerhouses Real Madrid and AC Milan could also be interested.

Pennant signed for Liverpool for £6.7million in 2006 and has made 81 appearances - including a Champions League final in 2007.
