Reds confident of Super League return

The Reds were relegated - for the second time in five years - when their only relegation rivals Hull KR gained a 42-6 win over Salford coach Shaun McRae's former club Hull at the KC Stadium to pull five points clear with two matches left to play.
Castleford or Widnes are favourites to replace Salford in Super League XIII but the Reds, with ambitious plans to move into a state-of-the-art stadium in 2010, have high hopes of securing a franchise by then.
"This season may not have been what we all expected but we have brought in a fantastic coach with the pedigree of winning the Super League on his CV," said John Wilkinson, who is celebrating 25 years as chairman this year.
"We have already begun to sign well for the next campaign and we will be rightly confident of a speedy return to Super League.
"In March of next year we must apply for our franchise in Super League along with all other clubs and we are confident with the work we have done behind the scenes that this will be granted next June.
"We are already looking forward to great times ahead and I am certain that we can set our city alight once more with our colours before we return to the top flight of our great game."
