Robinson knows just how high the stakes are for Steve McClaren's side as they attempt to revive their hopes of booking a place in the finals.

He said: "I am still very confident we will qualify. We've put ourselves in a difficult position and we have a lot of hard fixtures to come. We all are aware it will be a disaster if we don't win on Wednesday. But we have the players at our disposal capable of winning our remaining games."

Robinson believes England can take confidence from their 1-1 draw with Brazil at the new Wembley on Friday - even though the Tottenham goalkeeper was critical of the pitch.

He added: "There's absolutely no doubt in my mind, or the rest of the lads, that we can definitely still do it. We can take great heart from our performance against Brazil. Of course, we were disappointed with the way we conceded the goal at the end of the game but, apart from that, we can take a lot from it into Wednesday.

"It was a very strong performance against a very good team and we were 15 seconds away from winning and keeping a clean sheet. We boosted ourselves with our performance and I don't think people could criticise our performance. We went out there and showed passion and determination and created chances.

"There did not look a gulf in class. We looked on a par with them. Now we have to try for the same again in Estonia. We are confident we can win."

Robinson knows England have to turn Wembley into a fortress in the autumn with four of their last five qualifiers being played there. But he is hoping the surface will be better than it was against Brazil - the fourth game on the pitch in the space of seven days after the Football League play-offs.

Robinson said: "The Wembley experience was fantastic. It was a great game to play in. The stadium is fantastic. It was just a shame the pitch was so bad.

"We trained on it when it first got laid and it wasn't great, and the amount of games recently and the weather hasn't really helped. The ball was bobbling about a bit. We need the pitch to be better by the qualifiers."
