Robinson in fitness fight

Jason Robinson claims he is confident of being fit for England's World Cup quarter-final against Australia in Marseille next weekend.

Full-back Robinson suffered a hamstring injury in the defeat against South Africa, and it was thought that at the age of 33 he was unlikely to be able to play a significant part in the remainder of the tournament - after which he is to retire.

But he told the Mail on Sunday: "I will be fit and available for selection against Australia," he told the Mail on Sunday. This is our biggest match since we beat them in the World Cup final in Sydney four years ago."

England clinched their place in the last eight with a hard-fought win over Tonga on Friday.
