Robson: I'm still spot-on

Barry Robson insists he will still take the penalties for Celtic - despite costing them victory in their Champions League opener against Aalborg.

The Hoops midfielder confidently grabbed the ball when Shaun Maloney was fouled in the box with half an hour gone at Celtic Park on Wednesday night, only to fire straight at goalkeeper Karim Zaza.

The save proved to be crucial as the Group E curtain-raiser ended in a goalless stalemate but Robson said: "I did the same as I always do and I'm always confident of scoring. But for some reason, I didn't catch the ball quite right."

He added: "It's frustrating and the last penalty I hit before this one wasn't that great either.

"But it's only the second I've missed in my whole career and I'm confident of taking them again.

"You can't go away hiding just because you missed a penalty - you have to be big enough and brave enough to take them again and I'll make sure I do that.

"I'm just disappointed that I let the boys down a little bit by missing it. I just wish I'd scored it to be honest."

As bottom seeds, Aalborg were expected to be the whipping boys of the group but Robson insists Celtic never took the three points for granted.

"I don't think we underestimated them at all," he said.

"We prepared right, we watched videos on them and were sent home with tapes. The manager made sure we were well prepared."
